Too many products today are mains operated – just think how much you could save in manufacturing, safety approvals if the same product could be made to operate without mains. In some cases we admit this dream is impossible but in many others it is a viable option and a certain market winner!

 

Just think a product on standby consuming 1W, on an annual basis consumes cumulatively 8.7KW/hr annually. This may not seem like much or cost the customer too much but when you add it up and if you ship just 10,000 products a year this equates to 87MW, the typical output from a single generator at a power station running for one hour.
